Burberry Prorsum Womenswear S/S 2016 // MostlyMilly

The sound of the 32 piece orchestra tuning within the light and spacious London home of Burberry signified the start of another stunning collection and experience by Christopher Bailey. The name of this collection ' Functionregalia.' The usual front row turned out to watch including Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Sienna Miller, Suki Waterhouse and Benedict Cumberbatch to name a few.
Burberry's last season was a little out of it's comfort zone. As beautiful as it was, this collection returns to Burberry's roots and there's a familiarity that seemed to be lost in A/W 2015. Perhaps it's the location of Kensington Gore that creates that sense of real British heritage fashion.
Lace played a big part in the collection but not in a clichéd, flimsy way. The looks had attitude  with personalised backpacks flung over the models backs and strong military shapes in the form of pea coats and jackets grazing their shoulders. There was a lot of emphasis on coats this season despite it being spring / summer wear and I love it. I adore the lightweight trenches skimming the shins and thighs paired with long delicate lace covered maxi dresses and skirts than will easily carry the most stylish of women into next autumn paired with an over sized jumper.
Nothing beats the new Burberry backpacks. So effortlessly cool and easy to wear, I would grab one with my initials printed on the back in a heartbeat if I could chose any piece from this collection. Another surprise love of mine are the black cut out peep toe heels with an almost architectural feel, so easy to wear and incredibly chic.
The beauty looks on the run way consisted of a luminous glow to the skin and a red oxblood stained lip, proving autumnal shades can move into the spring months with the help of dewy skin and a natural looking eye.
Alison Moyet sang during the show and closed it with 'Only you', helping to once again create the iconic experience Burberry is renowned for.

Here are a few of my favourite looks from the collection.

NYFW Jeremy Scott S '16 // MostlyMilly

Jeremy Scott once again proves he's one of the most exciting and vibrant designers of our time. When I first laid eyes upon a photograph of Gigi Hadid on the runway at NYFW, her eyeliner flicking towards the heavens and her hair even more so, I knew I was going to love this collection.
The 60's era has been recreated , time and time again and it's tricky to get right. However, Scott has injected a new lease of life into the trend with daring pops of colour and print.

The collection has an outer space feel with metallic textures and fabrics, creating a twist on the safer played 60's collections we've seen before by other designers. This collection is something totally different and incredibly unique, its on another planet.
If you watch the show you can literally see the hair of the models bouncing like fluffy clouds.
The hair and makeup is very much my cup of tea and the graphic black eyeliner imitating over the top lashes sings to me.

You know this is the man behind Moschino and theres a distinct Scott feel to the collection. Over stated and over sized accessories in block colour and peep toe shoes that remind me of what I used to dress my barbies in complete the looks.

I am nothing less than obsessed over the neon block knitted two pieces he has created.
The high waisted skirt and cropped long sleeve top perfectly catapult themselves into 2016 and are ingeniously ready to wear.

This collection says to me Bond girls circa 60's with a hint of sci-fi. Yes I am fabulous and terribly fashionable but I carry a loaded space gun.
